Chandler Regional Medical Hospital: Interior and Exterior LED Retrofit with Integrated Dimming Occupancy Sensors
Phoenix, AZ
Phoenix, AZ
Earth Savers was hired by CommonSpirit Health, the 2nd largest hospital system in the United States, to retrofit Chandler Regional Medical Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona. This Arizona medical center lighting project was one of the many retrofit upgrades completed by Earth Savers for CommonSpirit Health. At 669,776 square feet, there was a lot of room for certified Earth Savers installers to re-lamp existing fixtures in some areas, or completely replace existing fixtures in others to help CommonSpirit Health achieve their goal of lowered energy costs.
Existing CFL lamps in restrooms, elevators, and decorative areas were re-lamped with LED plugin lamps, reducing existing fixture wattage from 13W to 7W in these areas. Troffer fixtures throughout this facility were retrofit with programmable LED troffers, seen in the example below. These fixtures increase savings by an estimated 40% because of the integrated dimming sensors that illuminate the fixture when an area becomes occupied and dim the fixture when the area becomes unoccupied. As a result of this project, Chandler Regional Medical Center will see an annual kWh savings of 1,886,188, or an annual $337,472 in energy costs.
